Launched in October of 2017, The Port Townsend Steel Bands are community-based, beginning and intermediate Caribbean Steel Bands. Our mission is to learn Caribbean rhythms and songs in a fun, relaxed environment while making new friends and sharing the enchanting sounds of the steelpans with our community.

Intro Workshop & Classes!
Classes are typically scheduled in a series of 8 weeks, meeting once per week on Monday afternoon/evening. This allows us enough time together as a group to prepare for a performance at the end of the class series.

Beginners Welcome!
The intro workshop is a great opportunity to try several different steelpans.
During this fun, hands-on workshop, you will have the opportunity to play steelpans as we discuss technique, Caribbean styles, common Caribbean rhythms, some basic music theory and even start learning a song. Limited space available, RSVP required.
